We stayed here with our four kids and it was perfect for us, especially for the price! There was coffee and some breakfast snacks available for guests in the morning which was great since we were heading into Great Sand Dunes! The owner was very nice and when we did have an issue with the toilet he quickly came to our room to help us. Our room and the entire building in general was very clean. We would stay here again if we ever come back!

Conveniently located on Hwy 160, the inn isn’t difficult to find and is perfectly situated for any of the attractions around Fort Garland. The inn is run by a pair of welcoming folks who we found in rocking chairs in the lobby when we arrived. The lobby has high glass windows facing south and has more the character of a ski lodge than a roadside motel.

The rooms are spacious ( My mother and I took a tour) clean, and it had a coffee pot, t.v etc. The usual amenities. And it is a climate controlled building which made our team VERY happy.

The rooms, while small and somewhat dated, are nevertheless clean, cozy, and in good repair. The comfort afforded, the reasonable price, and welcoming hosts make this a place we’ll be sure to visit again.

In April we had a three man crew down from Growing Spaces to build our Geo Dome. Frank, the new owner was happy to accommodate us and our team. Our crew had nothing but positive things to say about their stay. They said they felt welcome, comfortable and refreshed each day they came to work for a 10 hr day.

Our group of five stayed a night on our way through Fort Garland and couldn’t have had a better experience, except unless we’d been able onto stay longer.

We stayed overnight on our return from the Taos Wool Festival. The pass was closed due to a storm and we were SO delighted to find a clean, comfortable, spacious place to crash for the day and night. The rooms were huge, cheerful and CLEAN. We knitted around the fire and talked with other guests. Lu's Cafe in Blanca was great. My one and only criticism is that the hotel is FULL of plug-in type air freshener and scented candles. It was horrible for my allergies and asthma. It is really not necessary or even healthy to use SO much!!! Your place would be perfect without the plug ins!!!!

We stopped in unplanned, due to rain during our motorcycle trip. The owner was hands on and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy lodge style and smelled wonderful. The room was very clean and restful. This was a fantastic place to stay, especially for the price!

Frank is also a Retired USMC veteran. He will see to it that you are treated fair. He gave us a 10% discount on account I am a Navy Veteran.

A great place to stop in the tiny town of Fort Garland.
